SUMMARY:Hang Time by Marikiscrycrycry
DESCRIPTION:A choreographic meditation on hanging out. Hanging in the air. Hanging in there. Hanging by rope. Hanging braids off the nape of the neck. Hanging on to life. Hanging by a thread. Hanging bodies. Duration. Divination. Invocation. Congregation. Haunting.\n\nBuilding upon Marikiscrycrycry's decade-long practice of motorising otherwise fatalistic and marginal perspectives\, Hang Time engages an emergent mode of creation that is at once genre-defying and spiritually itinerant.\n\nSuspended between bouyon and soca\, séance\, ritual\, social gathering\, and catastrophe\, the work transforms hanging into a social\, historical\, choreographic\, and metaphysical condition. Through states of endurance\, collapse\, congregation\, and reverberation\, Hang Time listens to the gulf in order to sense what remains suspended in the air after disappearance.\n\nhttps://www.townspot.co/event/hang-time-by-marikiscrycrycry-53a31c9c-6fae-48f4-8400-9e84d3ae21b4

SUMMARY:Contemporary Improvers with Leanne Lieberhong/ Jenny Hayes
DESCRIPTION:Work with increased physicality and develop a more dynamic approach to movement.\n\nThis class is designed to build upon the foundations of our introduction course\, allowing you to expand your skills and explore the art of contemporary dance even further.\n\nOur progressive approach is influenced by the techniques of Cunningham and release-based Contemporary styles. Cunningham technique emphasises the movement of the spine through curves\, tilts\, twists\, and arches. Incorporation of Release technique encourages flowing movements that focus on breath.\n\nDance artist Leanne Lieberhong will guide you through the class\, helping you develop your skills and technique\, accompanied by the live music of Thomas Broda. You will have the opportunity to explore your own styles and approach to movement through a choreographed phrase that will be taught in class.\n\nPlease note that Jenny Hayes will cover Leanne\, who will return from her Maternity Leave from Saturday 7 November 2026.\n\nhttps://www.townspot.co/event/contemporary-improvers-with-leanne-lieberhong-jenny-hayes-26f04364-eab8-413a-adfd-d4da048255fb

You will have the opportunity to explore your own styles and approach to movement through a choreographed phrase that will be taught in class.\n\nPlease note that Jenny Hayes will cover Leanne\, who will return from her Maternity Leave from Saturday 7 November 2026.\n\nhttps://www.townspot.co/event/contemporary-improvers-with-leanne-lieberhong-jenny-hayes-78ac0f18-6b68-4a37-b131-319e38c536f3
